Pier relative to axis and reference point
Interactively move a structural member of the type pier with the definition “relative to axis and reference point”
To interactively move a pier “relative to axis and reference point”
- Click Move/Pier.
- Click the pier you want to move in the view window of the 3D model.
- Click the desired axis in the 3D model to which the pier should be moved.
- Move the mouse along the axis to specify the desired station at which the pier axis should be connected, and confirm it with a mouse click.
- Move the mouse in vertical direction to specify the desired distance in vertical direction (local x-direction (global Y)) related to the previously selected position on the axis to define the position of the point of origin (Geometric Position 1) of the pier axis. Confirm it with a mouse click.
Note: Select the type of the distance to be defined (relative to the selected position on the axis or as an absolute height through this point) during input in the menu Geometric Position 1 in the Property window.
- Optionally: By default, the Geometric Position 2 is unaffectedly taken over. However, you have the possibility to redefine it via the Property window by selecting the option reference point. In this case, click the reference point in the 3D model at which the pier axis should be connected to the girder to redefine the position of the Geometric Position 2 for defining the reference length of the pier.
Note: The reference point (GP 2) must lie above the point of origin (GP 1) to receive a positive reference length. (The input is immediately checked by the program and, as the case may be, not permitted).
