Girder from master

Index

Create a structural member of the type “girder” on the basis of a respective existing master (see Skew / master girder)

When interactively creating the girder from the master, you can directly set the cuts at the begin and end of the girder at the desired angles.

After creating, you can define additional cuts (=”rotated cross sections”) within the girder in the submenu Cross Sections of the girder created from the master. For this purpose, first tick the checkboxes at the wished stations in the additional column Section and then define the desired rotational angels at these positions.

To create a new girder from a master

  1. Select the tool Girder from master.

Note: You can also directly drag & drop the wished master girder from the project navigation tree into the view window.

  2. Optionally, edit the name and the description in the opening input window.
  3. Select the master girder from the drop-down menu in the same window from which you want to create the girder, and confirm the input with OK.

A new girder is created in the menu Girders in the project navigation tree.

The girder is now also displayed in the view window of the 3D model.

  4. Move the mouse in the View window to specify the wished first position of the cut (begin or end) of the girder on the axis, and confirm it with a mouse click.
  5. Move the mouse in the View window to specify the wished cutting angle at the first position of the girder, and confirm it with a mouse click.
  6. Move the mouse in the View window to specify the wished second position of the cut (begin or end) of the girder on the axis, and confirm it with a mouse click.
  7. Move the mouse in the View window to specify the wished cutting angle at the second position of the girder, and confirm it with a mouse click.
