Notes for determining the directions of placements

To determine the orientation of the placement the object must be transformed from the ALLPLAN coordinate system to the ALLPLAN Civil coordinate system.

Procedure for determining the directions of the coordinate axes of the placement object in ALLPLAN Civil

1. Detect the orientation of the defined object in ALLPLAN regarding the global ALLPLAN coordinate system.

   

2. Conceptually, position the object in ALLPLAN Civil keeping the directions of these coordinate axes. The result is the object in ALLPLAN Civil in the local ALLPLAN coordinate system.

   

3. Transform the local ALLPLAN coordinate system in ALLPLAN Civil into the local ALLPLAN Civil coordinate system.

   

   Now you can determine the directions of the local x-axis and z-axis in ALLPLAN Civil by means of the options in the drop-down menu - see Define the properties of the smart symbol or PythonPart placement.
