Define an earthquake event based on the vertical design spectrum according to Eurocode
Select the Type of the desired response spectrum to automatically fill the fields of the parameters Tb, Tc, Td according to EC. Optionally, you can freely define these values by selecting the radio button “User-defined”. Additionally, in both cases define the parameters q and b.
The defined response spectrum is graphically displayed in the bottom window.
Perform additional definitions for the earthquake event in the top right window area.
Definition of the parameter values for describing the response spectrum
Type
Type of the elastic response spectrum according to EC
Note: According to EC the selection of the Type has only effects on the ratio value of the design ground acceleration avg/ag.
Additional parameters for defining the response spectrum
q
Behavior factor according to EC
b
Lower bound factor for the horizontal design spectrum according to EC
Additional definitions for the earthquake event
Superposition rule
Method for the superposition of the particular calculated eigenmodes
Duration
Duration of the earthquake event
To be used within the superposition rules DSC and CQC
Damping
To be used within the superposition rules DSC and CQC
ag
Design ground acceleration for the horizontal (!) spectrum
The design ground acceleration avg for the vertical spectrum is automatically calculated according to EC by the respective ratio avg/ag depending on the selected Type.
To be used within the evaluation of the response spectrum (task EQRESPONSE)
