LINSTRESS: Linear stress
Calculate the linear stresses
In this check the existing normal stresses due to the given envelope are evaluated for the elements assigned by assemblies and stored under the given result name.
Parameters
Envelope (env)
Name of the envelope/combination/combination group for which the evaluation should be performed
Day (day)
Day in the construction phases at which the stress calculation should be performed
Normal stress (normal)
Option for performing the calculation for linear elastic normal stresses
Principal stress (princ)
Option for performing the calculation for linear-elastic principal stresses
Result name (resname)
Result name; user-defined name under which the results of the calculation by means of the existing stresses should be stored
The evaluated results can be addressed by their result names in the result presentation (tab Design Checks in the Result Data in Results).
Calculation assumption:
- Linear-elastic behavior of all materials
- The calculation is performed based on transformed cross section properties (see note below)
- The stress is evaluated in all vertexes and stress points of the cross section and output in the two extreme points for the max. and min. results.
Note:
- The transformed section is a fictitious cross section, in which the areas of the reinforcement and the tendons (post-tensioned and pre-tensioned) are transformed to a concrete area by the ratio of the elastic modules and are added to the net section. The areas of post-tensioned tendons are added only after they are prestressed.
- The net section is the net concrete area of the cross-section. The areas of the ducts, the reinforcement and the pre-tensioned tendons are subtracted from the gross section. After the ducts are grouted, the areas of the reinforcement and the post-tensioned and pre-tensioned tendons are subtracted from the gross section.
- The gross section is the area of the cross-section, in which the areas of the ducts, the reinforcement and the tendons are not subtracted.
