Apply a displacement to a spring (type soil spring) to calculate settlements
The displacements can be defined related to the global coordinate system or related to the local coordinate system of the particular spring elements (option local).
Arguments
dx
Displacement in x-direction [length]
dy
Displacement in y-direction [length]
dz
Displacement in z-direction [length]
local
If this option is activated, the defined displacements are applied related to the local coordinate system of the particular spring elements, if not, related to the global coordinate system.
Note: With respect to an appropriate engineering approach in fact no displacement is applied to the spring element, but a fictitious force, which would cause that displacement in the spring, if only this one would be active. This force is not considered in the sum of loads of the system.
