Insert Line in 3D Curve

Task area 3D Objects

You can use this tool to insert lines or linear segments in 3D B-splines or 3D polylines. This does not divide the B-spline or polyline; it is still a single element.

Tip: For example, this tool is useful for editing bridges or road location lines.

To insert a line in a 3D curve

1. Click Insert Line in 3D Curve (How).
   

   Activate Insert Line in 3D Curve in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Modeling Task area 3D Objects

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

2. Select the 3D B-spline or 3D polyline into which you want to insert a line segment.

   You can see the starting point of the line as a preview.

3. Define the points where the line starts and ends on the 3D B-spline or the 3D polyline.

   

   Note: Using this tool, you can also insert line segments into a straight 3D line. This way, you can insert points into a straight 3D line, thus dividing this line into sections.
