Dimension Section

You can use this tool to create elevation dimensions for a section you created with Section Along Curve.

To dimension a section along a curve

Click Dimension Section (How).
Activate Dimension Section in one of the following ways
- Actionbar:Role Architecture Task Elements Task area Views and Sections
- Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Bridge and Civil Engineering
- Palette: Tools Create area in the following modules:
Bridge Construction and Civil Engineering
Select the section by clicking its view border.
Allplan takes the reference point for elevation dimensioning from the section.
Specify the dimension-line parameters.
Use the options on the context toolbar.
- Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
- Click Match properties to copy the settings from an existing element.
- Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
If you want, you can change the Arrowhead. Then click the first point you want to dimension.
If the Symbol at reference point option is not active, the first point defines the position for all the other elevation points. You can move the elevation dimensions later using the Move Dimension Line tool in the Dimension task area.
If you want, you can change the Arrowhead for the next point. Then click more points you want to dimension.
Select the Esc key to close the tool.

Notes:

While creating elevation dimensions, you can change the global dimension-line parameters at any time. Use the options on the context toolbar.
Double-click a dimension line to open the Dimension Line dialog box, where you can modify the parameters. In this case, the dialog box also includes the Section/Point tab.
To modify the elevation dimensions of the section, you can use various tools in the Dimension task area. You can select these tools on the shortcut menu of the dimension line. For example, you can use Add Dimension Line Point or Del Dimension Line Point.
