Using resources in NDW files

Resources used in NDW files are saved directly in the relevant document; in other words, NDW files always look the same, regardless of how the resources are defined in the project or office standard. So, you can say that NDW files include independent resources.

The following resources are saved in NDW files:

A resource will only be saved to an NDW file when you draw an element that uses this resource; in other words, an NDW file only includes the resources that are actually used.

Use the Remove resources tool in the Extras menu, then go to Definitions to show and delete resources that are saved in the NDW file but are no longer used.

An NDW file includes all the resources that come with Allplan. In addition, the resources defined in the office or project and the resources you have saved in the NDW file are available. When you edit resources using Defaults (How), you will only see the resources that actually exist in the NDW file.

Tip: When creating a new NDW file, you can use a template file. All resources and elements are then taken from this template file and used in the new file. To do so, save a file that contains the desired resources and elements and use the file name new.ndw in the Std\Template file. Every NDW file that is created with New... (How) is created as a copy of this template file.
