Elements (for example, architectural elements) are not visible

What to do if no elements are visible?

• Requirements:
  To narrow down the options, start by updating the screen contents.
  Run the cleanup hotline tool.
  Then restart Allplan, select the relevant project and check the settings in the CAD system based on the steps described.

  Using the "cleanup" hotline tool

• Step 1:
  Check whether the Hidden view type is selected on the viewport toolbar. If it is selected, turn it off.
• Step 2:
  Check that Plan view is active.
  To do this, click the View flyout menu on the viewport toolbar and select Plan or open the View menu, point to View and click Plan.
• Step 3:
  Click Show/Hide (How) and check that all elements are selected.
  

  Activate Show/Hide in one of the following ways

  • Menu bar: View

  • Title bar: Quick Access Toolbar View
• Step 4:
  Check the layer settings.

  Layers can be visible or hidden.

  You can also define print sets with specific access rights. This also affects visibility if you are not granted any access rights to the current print set:

• Step 5:
  Click Reference Scale (How) or click the reference scale on the status bar and check the setting (a 4-mm text is hardly visible at a scale of 1:1,000).
  In addition, click Display Scale (How) and check the setting.
  Neither value must be in the range of 1:0.1 or smaller or greater than 1:1,000,000.
  

  Activate Display Scale in one of the following ways

  Activate Reference Scale in one of the following ways

• Step 6:
  A smart symbol definition, SmartPart definition or OpeningPart definition can cause this problem.
  Click Reference Scale (How) and experiment with different settings such as 1:10, 1:50, 1:100. You can configure the program to hide parts of the smart symbol/SmartPart/OpeningPart at specific scale ranges when you define a smart symbol/SmartPart/OpeningPart. When creating SmartParts and OpeningParts with the aid of the corresponding tools ( Door SmartPart, Window SmartPart, Skylight SmartPart, Shading SmartPart, Domed Roof-Light SmartPart, Door, Window) ) you can define the scale ranges of predefined 2D views. Particular scale ranges might be turned off; in other words, the display mode assigned to the scale range is hidden.
• Step 7:
  Check that you have loaded the correct fileset.
  A document can be assigned to several filesets. A region within a fileset can be defined as being invisible using the tools in the Detailing task area. Consequently, this region is only visible in the detailing window. This definition is part of the loaded fileset.
• Step 8:
  The document might be empty.
  Exit Allplan and start the Services application. Click Service, Hotline Tools and select reorg. Click Named project, select the relevant project and choose Reorganize.
  Start Allplan again, click Open on a project-specific basis (How) and check the drawing file status: The drawing file must not be empty.
  

  Activate / Open on a Project-Specific Basis... in one of the following ways:

  • Title bar: Allplan icon
  • Title bar: Quick Access Toolbar
  • Shortcut menu: Hovering over the empty workspace Right mouse button Shortcut menu toolbar

  • Menu bar: File

  • Keyboard: O O
  

  • Open the Windows start menu, point to ALLPLAN and click Services 2026.
