General information about article selection

In the Selection of Articles dialog box, you can select a fixture by specifying its class and article.

Select a class. You have the following options:

Click an entry in the Tree view. The program automatically displays all the articles belonging to the class clicked.
Click the Class box in the right pane and select an entry. TheTree view on the left side automatically displays all the articles belonging to the class clicked.
Note: Click Options ... (Tree tab) to specify whether the Name or the Code of the class is visible in the tree view and in the boxes.

Select an article. You have the following options:

Click one of the articles in the Tree view. The article clicked and its name and parameters are entered in the right pane.
Note: When you double-click an article in the Tree view, the article selection closes automatically and the fixture is attached to the crosshairs.
Click the Article box in the right pane and select an entry. The article and its name and parameters are entered.
Enter the Short name, Article number or the Full name of the article, depending on the setting in the Options ... on the Filter tab. Make sure that you enter the name correctly. You can also use wildcard characters.
Articles that do not agree with your entry are hidden in the Tree view. Select one of the remaining articles or specify more parameters. If the name you enter agrees with an article, this article and its parameters are entered.
Note: When you click Delete All, the first article of the selected class is entered.
Article names can include the following placeholders:
- ? substitute for any character
- * substitute for a string consisting of any characters
Note: When you precede a placeholder with a backslash (i.e. \? or \*), the program searches for the actual character (? or *).
Defining filter options for articles

The article filter provides the following options:
- You can deactivate the Filter for article header option to hide the filter.
- You can deactivate the Upper/lower case option to ignore case-sensitivity in the article filter.
- You can click Select attributes ... to define the scope of the article filter.
- You can click Defaults to configure the program to use the settings you have made on the Tree tab for the article filter.
- After you have selected an attribute listed, you can use the arrows at top right to change the sequence of the attributes.
Enter values for the stated parameters in the right-hand window within the Parameters section if these are available. The program searches for appropriate articles and selects the first article that agrees with the parameters.
Note: If you want to enter new parameter values, you can delete all existing values by using Delete parameters or you can select individual parameters and delete them by using the Del key. You can select parameters as you would in any other Windows application.
Entering parameters

Observe the minimum and maximum values displayed when entering the individual parameters. You can only enter certain default values; the exception is special designs. You can see the existing parameters of the fixture in parentheses.

To enter parameters
1. Click a box and enter a number or double-click a box.
2. Select one of the default values if you do not define any special designs.
  Entering a number automatically takes you to values that begin with the number entered. Duplicate entry of the same number prompts the system to browse matching values.
Notes:
- Define the entries that are available for selecting accessories in the *.ref files in the Ref folder of the respective coupler manufacturer. The manufacturer folder is located in the Prod folder of the STD directory.
- Define the entries that are available for selecting end processing abbreviation and which abbreviation is used in the Abbreviation_Endpreparation.lst file in the Lst folder of the respective coupler manufacturer. The manufacturer folder is located in the Prod folder of the STD directory.
  The defined parameters are assigned to the couplers and threads as attribute @18237@ (End machining abbreviation) and @18083@ (End processing abbreviation (Abkürzung)) and can be used for labelling and analysis.
Note: You can use the Options ... (Tree) tab, to specify whether the tree view and the boxes display the Article number, Short name, Full name, Short name and Article number or the Article number and Short name.
On the Focus tab, you can configure the program to automatically select a line after you have specified a class. The name or parameters can then be entered in this line.
