Reports

Task area Annotations

You can use this tool to generate reports of architectural elements, objects and 3D solids with architectural attributes and engineering components. Reports can be sent to the printer and imported as PDF files.

Reports are used for analyzing data in ALLPLAN. They are saved as templates in RDLC format.

Reports can be printed, placed as PDF files in documents and exported to Excel and other formats.
You can change the layout of reports and save the result as a new template.

Note: Lengths and weights are stated in metric and imperial values depending on the length unit setting.

Note: Some task areas such as Site Plan or Urban Planning include reports specially tailored to the discipline they cover. You can access these reports using the Landscaping Reports and Urban Planning Reports tools. These tools work just like the Reports tool described here.

Available reports, overview

To generate reports

1. Click Reports (How).
   

   Activate Reports in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Task area Annotations

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Templates: Reports, Legends, Labels

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Templates: Reports, Legends, Labels

   Smart Symbols

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   Facility Management

2. Select a folder and report in the Reports dialog box.

   Note: Click the Options icon in the dialog box to open the Options for reports and quantity calculations.

3. Select the elements you want to analyze.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   To get detailed information on all selection options provided by ALLPLAN, see Selecting elements, overview.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

   Note: Click in the Input Options to find elements based on advanced criteria (material, for example).
   This works just like the Find Elements tool.

   Tip: You can use Group Rooms, Stories in the Input Options to select the names of one or several groups of rooms or stories, which will then be analyzed.

   Report Viewer opens, displaying the report.

4. Report Viewer opens, displaying the report. You can edit the report as follows:
   • You can customize the report.
   • You can print the report.
   • You can place the report in the current document.
   • You can save the report as a file in Excel, PDF, or Word format.
   • You can edit the report using Layout Designer.
     You can save changes as a new template in RDLC format.
5. Print or save the report.

   Tip: You can place the report in the current document.
