Rabbet

Task area Components

You can use this tool to draw rabbets on the left, right and at the top and bottom of a window opening.
In the case of walls with multiple construction layers, a rabbet can be inserted on a side of the opening or in individual construction layers.

Note: In the case of walls with multiple construction layers, rabbets may traverse several layers. When you modify these rabbets, they are split into discrete layers. You should therefore delete the rabbets and create them again.

To design a rabbet

1. Click Rabbet (How).
   

   Activate Rabbet in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Architecture Task Elements Task area Components

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

2. If you want, you can now modify the joint's parameters.
   The context toolbar provides several options.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match properties to copy the settings from an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
3. Click the side of the opening or the construction layer where you want to insert the rabbet.
