Modify Region with Placed Elements

Task area Smart Fit

You can use this tool to modify the size of the placement region or to define and place new elements within the placement region.

To modify a region fitted with elements

1. Click Modify Region with Placed Elements (How).
   

   Activate Modify Region with Placed Elements in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Design Task area Smart Fit

   • Menu bar: Change Bonus Tools Smart Fit

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Smart Fit

2. Click the region to be modified.
3. You can add or cut out polygons in the region.
4. Enter the region as you would a polyline.
   

   If the region in which the elements are to be placed is to have recesses, click Minus in the Input options and enter a new polyline.

   If the region in which the elements are to be placed is to consist of several polylines, click Plus in the Input options and enter a new polyline.

5. Press ESC to quit the modification.
6. The elements in the modified region are automatically re-calculated and re-fitted to the new constraints imposed by the new outline(s).
   The Smart Fit dialog box is displayed again.
7. Press ESC to quit the tool.
