Task area 2D Objects + 3D Objects

You can use this tool to drop a perpendicular to a line, circle, spline or an ellipse.

To drop a perpendicular to a line or a circle

1. Click Perp (How).
   

   Activate Perp in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Design Task area 2D Objects

   • Menu bar: Create Draft

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Draft

   Site Plan

2. You can apply symbols to the start point and end point of the perpendicular or draw the perpendicular as a pattern line.
   

   You can apply start symbols and end symbols to various 2D elements. To do this, you can use the Properties palette - Element area.

   • Select the symbol you want to use and define its size in millimeters.
   • Decide whether you want to apply a start symbol or an end symbol or both symbols by selecting the relevant the check boxes.
   • While drawing, you can change the symbol or switch it off at any time.
3. Click the line, circle, ellipse or spline.
4. Define the perpendicular in one of the following ways:
   • Specify a point from which you want to drop the perpendicular.
   • Enter the length of the perpendicular and then click a point through which the perpendicular is to pass.
