Import SketchUp data

Task area Import

You can use this tool to import *.skp files created in SketchUp. To find out which versions are supported, see Formats for exchanging data with ALLPLAN. ALLPLAN imports the data as 3D surfaces, placing these 3D surfaces with the coordinates defined in SketchUp.

To import SketchUp data

  1. Click Import SketchUp Data (How).
  2. Select a file and click Open.

The 3D model is placed on the document with the coordinates defined in SketchUp.
Surfaces and textures are saved in the project under design\SKP-Import\model name. If identical surfaces are found, you will receive a message. You can replace or keep the existing surfaces.

Note: In ALLPLAN only one material can be assigned to an object. If an SKP file contains an object to which several materials or surfaces are assigned, then this object is split into several objects during import depending on the material; sub-objects with the same material are combined again. This will cause the object to be displayed correctly in ALLPLAN.
