Requirements and rules

The following requirements and rules apply when setting up and running a ALLPLAN workgroup.

LAN or WLAN

A ALLPLAN workgroup is based on an existing and correctly configured local network (LAN or WLAN). All computers that are provided as ALLPLAN workstations within the workgroup must be integrated in this network.

Licensing the "Workgroup Manager" option

Operating ALLPLAN in a workgroup means that a corresponding license is required for the "Workgroup" option. If Workgroup Manager is selected at a ALLPLAN workstation without the license, then ALLPLAN will not start.

Setting up a ALLPLAN workgroup

Ideally, a ALLPLAN workgroup would already be set up upon installation of the first ALLPLAN workstation within the local network. Corresponding instructions can be found in the Installation Help, which can be retrieved when installing ALLPLAN here.

If the license for the "Workgroup" option is acquired retroactively then any ALLPLAN that have been working locally or without Workgroup Manager can subsequently be added to a ALLPLAN workgroup. The switch:

Standardized ALLPLAN version

On all ALLPLAN workstations in a workgroup, the same ALLPLAN version must be installed. Updates and hot fixes for a ALLPLAN version must be installed on all ALLPLAN workstations simultaneously.
