Detailed Drawing File(s)

You can use this function to create one or more model drawing files out of the detailed drawing file(s).

To create one or more detailed drawing files

1. Click Detailed Drawing File(s) (How).
   

   Activate Detailed Drawing File(s) in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Precast Elements Task Precast Slab Task area BIM-Booster

   • Menu bar: Create Precast BIM Booster

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following modules:

   BIM-Booster

2. Open the model drawing file and select the precast element(s) for which you want to create detailed drawing files. You can select only normal precast elements.

   Note: If you inadvertently select a model precast element or an existing detailed precast element, the program displays an error message. Similarly, you cannot create a detailed precast element from a normal precast element that already has an element plan.

3. After you have confirmed the selection, the Select destination drawing file dialog box opens. Select an empty drawing file. This is the first drawing file. Starting at this drawing file, the program then creates the detailed drawing files in succession, where required.
   There must always be only one drawing file selected here. If several detailed drawing files are created, the program will independently search for the following custom drawing files.

   The program then creates a separate detailed drawing file for each normal precast element group selected.

   The Name of detailed drawing file for the detailed drawing files created is therefore generated according to the defined pattern.

   • In the case of slabs, iWalls and structural precast elements, the pattern is defined under BIM Booster in the General tab of the Configurations, Slab Programs, Half floor or Concrete slab, Design or Wall Programs, Concrete wall (iWall)) or Sandwich wall (iWall)), Design or Structural precast elements, Element creation.
   • In the case of precast elements, the pattern is created in the Definition of element creation on the General tab of BIM Booster of Catalogs, Precast Element, Element type catalog.

     The program creates exactly one detailed drawing file for each precast element group. In doing so, the program picks out a precast element of the group and copies this precast element to the detailed drawing file. The program assigns the drawing file number of the detailed drawing file to all the precast elements in the group, thus turning these precast elements into model precast elements. The program saves the drawing file numbers of all associated model precast elements with the detailed drawing file.

     A warning will be issued if you attempt to assign a single detailed drawing file to several different pieces of model data with the same mark number on different drawing files. Only a single detailed drawing file on which the element is displayed whose drawing file was active will be created.

     Tip: When you point to a model precast element, you can see the number of the associated detailed drawing file in the ToolTip. When you point to a detailed precast element, the ToolTip shows the numbers of all associated model drawing files.

Notes:

• The detailed precast element is an exact copy of the model precast element. The position of the detailed precast element in the detailed drawing file is exactly the same as that of the model precast element in the model drawing file. You can move and rotate the model precast elements and the detailed precast elements at will without this having an effect on the connection between the precast elements or on later data synchronization.
