Wall, Beam Mark

Task area Key Plan

You can use this tool to create horizontal wall and beam marks. Options are provided that let you set the mark's scope and appearance and text parameters.
As opposed to the other tools, the span direction is already defined here. Define the length and position of the arrow indicating the span direction by entering its start and end points.

To create a mark for walls and beams

1. Click Wall, Beam Mark (How).
   

   Activate Wall, Beam Mark in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Engineering Task Structural Analysis Task area Key Plan

   • Menu bar: Create Engineering Key Plan

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Key Plan

2. The static direction of load for these components is given in the toolbar by the icon.
3. Select a shape for the mark’s border.
   

   The following shapes are available:

   rectangular

   oval

   round

   octagonal

   In the case of and you can enter a number between 1 and 9 to define a constant size. If you enter 0, the size changes dynamically with the text.

4. Use the following parameters to assist you:
   • Plus Text to add text that will appear with the mark text.
   • Leader to add a leader.
   • Number + to enable automatic numbering.
     

     If this option is activated, the number entered as mark text increases by one each time the mark is placed.

     This function refers only to numbers which are at the end of the mark text.

5. Click to display the toolbar for general text settings.
6. When you have made all the necessary settings, set the drop-in point (for the mark itself), the start point (= reference point for the 1st arrow) and the end point (= reference point for the second arrow):
   • by accepting the text proposed by the system
   • after entering the text for the mark at the keyboard
   • after clicking an existing text to copy it
7. If you selected Plus Text or Leader, ALLPLAN will prompt you for the additional information or the leader points.
