Landscaping Legends, Drawing Symbol Legend
Task area Plant Objects, Path Areas + Urban Planning
You can use this tool to create a legend for plants, pavement or drawing symbols placed in the active documents.
Legends can update automatically (depending on the setting you make).
To create a legend
- Click
Landscaping Legend (How) or
Drawing Symbol Legend (How). - The Legend Selection dialog box opens. Select the folder, subfolder, and name of the legend.
File: 51 Landscaping
File: 60 Drawing symbol regulations - Define the type of the legend:
- So that the legend immediately adapts to the changes in the document, select the Associative legend of active document option and - before you place the legend - the Update automatically option in the Properties palette. The legend is still associative when you do not select the Update automatically option, but it does not adapt to changes.
- If the legend is to represent the current status of the document, clear the Associative legend of active document option.
- You can immediately place associative legends in the document. In doing so, you can define additional settings in the Properties palette.
Do the following to create a non-associative legend:- the elements that you want to include.
Click
in the input options to find elements based on advanced criteria (for example, material).
This works just like the
Find Elements tool. - Place the legend in the drawing file.
- You can edit associative legends by using the shortcut menu. You have the following options:
- You can use the
Update Label tool to add changes in the document or drawing files to the legend (for example, when the layer status has changed). This is only possible when the Update automatically option is selected. - You can change the page break within the legend by clicking on the workspace or by entering a value in the length unit selected in the dialog line. This is only possible when the Update automatically option is selected.
- You can resize a legend by clicking in the workspace or entering a factor in the dialog line.
- You can explode a legend into design entities. All elements get the same group number so that you can quickly and easily select and edit the exploded legend.
- You can change the additional settings of associative legends later by clicking within the legend and selecting the Properties palette.
Note: The
Landscaping Legend uses the group names of the selected plant catalog (for example, Bruns). In ALLPLAN you can modify the group names in Bruns master articles freely. Thus, you can control how the legend groups the plants.
