Dimensioning the component height ("associative" option is not selected)

While creating a dimension line, you can take the opening height or foundation height from an existing architectural opening or foundation:

• Click the first side of the opening or the first dimensioned point of the foundation.
• Click on the context toolbar and then click the required opening or foundation.
• Click the other side of the opening or another dimensioned point of the foundation.
  The only requirement is that the elements have been created with the tools Components in the task area.

You can also enter the height of an opening or foundation manually:

• Click the first side of the opening or the first dimensioned point of the foundation.
• Select the Component height check box on the context toolbar.
  • Use the keyboard to enter the value in the box. You can enter numbers only.
  • Click the other side of the opening or another dimensioned point of the foundation.
• You can enter additional text manually:
  • Click the first side of the opening or the first dimensioned point of the required dimension line section.
  • Select the Additional text check box on the context toolbar.
  • Use the keyboard to enter the text in the box. You can enter any characters.
  • Click the other side of the opening or the other point of the dimension line section.

Note: If the height of an opening or foundation changes later, you can adjust the height by selecting Modify Component Height, Additional Text or Properties on the shortcut menu of the dimension line.

Note: Allplan considers the Number of decimal places, Round-off value and Dim. text units dimension-line parameters defined for component heights (entered automatically or manually).

Note: For associative dimension lines, you can enter an additional text afterwards using the Properties palette.

Tip: The system "remembers" the entries you make for Component height and Additional text. Click to expand the list and then right-click the selection. A shortcut menu opens and you can save your entries by means of New additional text or New additional dim. text. You can also Delete entries.
