Working with Projects / Tool Project File (.apn)

Free project files are ALLPLAN projects that are in ALLPLAN format, but cannot be administered via Project and Resource Administration in ALLPLAN . All data relating to a project is stored in a single file.

Advantages of free project files:

• A ALLPLAN project can be directly opened, processed and saved without prior importing into Project and Resource Administration within ALLPLAN .
• A ALLPLAN project that is in the form of a single file (= project file) can easily be forwarded on to other planning partners.
• Double-click a project file in Windows Explorer automatically starts Allplan and loads the project.

Disadvantages of free project files:

• If a project file that is stored in a LAN/WLAN or in the ALLPLAN cloud is opened at a workstation then it is locked for all other planning partners for as long as it is open at this single workstation.
