Import OBJ Data

Task area Import

You can use this tool to import data in *.obj format to ALLPLAN. ALLPLAN imports the data as corners and 3D surfaces, placing these 3D surfaces with their original coordinates.

To import OBJ data

1. Click Import OBJ Data (How).
   

   Activate Import OBJ Data in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Teamwork Task area Import

   • Menu bar: File Import

   • Title bar: Allplan icon Import

2. Select a file and click Open.

   Tip: You can also import files in *.OBJ format to ALLPLAN by dragging them from File Explorer.

   The original coordinates are used to place the 3D model in the document.
   Surfaces and textures are saved in the project under design\OBJ-Import\model name. If identical surfaces are found, you will receive a message. You can replace or keep the existing surfaces.

   Note: In ALLPLAN you can assign only one material to an object. If an OBJ file contains an object to which several materials or surfaces are assigned, then this object is split into several objects during import depending on the material; sub-objects with the same material are combined again. This will display the object correctly in ALLPLAN.
