Collision Check

Task area Precast Slab + Precast Wall + Precast Element

You can use this tool to check whether selected elements collide. As a result, the program marks the colliding elements.

To check whether elements collide

1. Click Collision Check (How).
   

   Activate Collision Check in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Precast Elements Task Precast Slab Task area Precast Slab

   • Menu bar: Change Precast Precast Slab/Precast Wall/Precast Element

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following modules:

   Precast slab

   Precast Wall

   Precast Element

2. Click Filter in the input options and specify the elements you want to check in the Collision filter dialog box.

   This dialog box lists all the elements in the active drawing files.

3. Select the elements you want to check by clicking them or enclosing them in a selection rectangle.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

   The Filter Assistant helps you select specific elements.

   A message appears informing you of the number of collisions found. After you have confirmed this message, the colliding elements are displayed in the selection color.

4. Check more elements or press ESC to quit the tool.

Notes:

• Elements that are switched off in plan display or that are on frozen layers are ignored.
• The colliding elements are no longer displayed in the selection color when you check for collisions a second time, modify the precast elements or switch to a different drawing file.
