Project and Resource Administration dialog box
The Project Settings (
How) dialog box displays information about the selected project. You can change settings of this project.
Project info
Project name
Shows the name of the project.
Prepared online
Automatic preparation of the project for online access on a FTP server. When you select this option, Allplan changes all resources to project-specific and copies the user rights to the project.
Data compression
Automatic compression of the project prepared for online access
Data compression reduces the file size of these drawing files by up to 90%, considerably speeding up data transfer from and to the FTP server.
Created on
Shows the date the project was created.
Free memory
Shows the amount of free hard-drive space on the computer with the selected project.
Current project size
Shows how much of the space is used by the selected project.
Assign attributes
Assign values to the project attributes.
Computer name
With Workgroup Manager: Shows the computers where the projects are saved.
Owner
With Workgroup Manager: Shows the owner of the project who can be changed by the Allplan administrator.
Authorized users
With Workgroup Manager: The Allplan administrator (sysadm) can define the users who are authorized to work on this project.
Path settings
You can specify whether the project is to access the project resources of the office standard or use project-specific project resources. When you select Project, a copy of the office standard is created in the project, or click
and then select the project whose project resources you want to use.
Note: Switching the path setting of an existing project from Project to Office will delete the project-specific data in the corresponding setting. (A confirmation prompt to this effect is displayed first.) All changes made since the project was created (e.g., new line type definitions or new patterns) will be lost.
Note: If you want to subsequently change the project from which the project resources are to be matched to an existing project with the path set to Project, you must first change from Projects to Office and then confirm the note and the dialog box. Then switch back to project and use
to select the desired project.
Attributes
Here you set whether the attributes and attribute groups are to be defined and saved on a project-specific basis or whether the office-wide attribute standard is to be used.
If, for example, the office standard of a project has changed, you can use
to update the attributes of the current project or another project and adapt these attributes to the changed office standard without overwriting project-specific attributes that you changed or added beforehand. A dialog box tells you how many attributes will be added, changed, deleted, or renamed during the update. Click Details to list the attribute names. Click OK to confirm. The attributes will be updated when you click OK to confirm the Project Settings dialog box.
Property set template
Here you can specify whether additional
attribute sets are to be assigned for the attribution of the components of the Allplan project in addition to the standard attributes of Allplan. This is necessary, for example, if a uniform description of the component properties must be ensured across all disciplines within the scope of BIM-compliant planning.
The following options are available:
When you select IFC Common and Bimplus, Allplan automatically switches the path settings of the Attributes to Project. If the attribute set template is changed for a current project, you will receive a note about the corresponding effects.
Note: The attributes contained in the Properties palette or the Modify Attributes dialog box are directly related to the setting selected here.
Urban planning symbols
You can set the drawing symbol catalog used in the project.
CAD-TAI project assignment
SmartCatalog
This sets the path to the folder of existing XML catalogs and selects the one you want. After selecting the XML file, click Open, then the corresponding catalog name replaces the "SmartCatalog" placeholder name. In addition, the name can also be found in the catalog assignment.
For correct analyses, you must use the element catalogs when you define the materials of architectural elements.
Settings
Offset coordinates
Offsets are required above all to convert supra-regional country coordinates with high numbers into a local system centered on the WCS origin of the workspace. The offset you set is valid for the current project.
Note: During import, the offset value is subtracted; during export, it is added.
Note: If you have data with large coordinates, you can move the data and enter an offset to keep the original coordinates.
Enter the values in the current unit of length.
Project angle for rotated plan view
Default value for rotation of the plan view in the graphics windows.
The setting here initially applies to all newly opened graphics windows in the current project. In contrast, go to
Rotated plan view and select the only for the active graphics window setting on an individual basis.
Click
Match angle from most recent viewport to take the angle from the most recent viewport.
Default reference scale settings
Default settings for the Reference scale suggested for the project in the planning stage in particular, as well as for the (IFC) export.
Input, Output Currency
Specify the currency for the project. Reports that include prices use the currency selected. If you work with Workgroup Manager, the currency can only be selected or changed by the system administrator, the project owner, or authorized users.
Currency for current project: Select the required currency. You can change the currency's label: We recommend that you use the ISO code that is used in the banking sector.
Euro rate: Specify the exchange rate between the euro and any other currency (up to ten places before the decimal point and four places after the decimal point).
Euro converter: You can use this calculator to convert any amount from any currency to euros and vice versa. Just select a currency, enter the amount in the box, and select the Enter key to confirm.
Country
Use Country to create the project with country-specific settings (further information). You can only define this setting when you create a project; you cannot change this setting later.
DIN 277 Version
Version of DIN 277, according to which the surface areas and cubic contents of the project are determined. The versions from 2005, 2016 and 2021 can be selected, and the current 2021-08 version is automatically suggested for new projects.
Office resource path
It can only be selected for Allplan Share projects as well as for owners or administrators of Bimplus teams.
The choice of source from which the settings for the resources used in the project should be taken (see "Use of Project Resources"):
