Corner window opening

You can use this tool to place window openings that extend beyond the corner in adjoining walls. These can be provided with a corner window during creation or afterwards.

To create a corner window opening

1. Click Corner window opening (How).
   

   Activate Corner window opening in one of the following ways:

   • Actionbar:Role Architecture Task Elements Task area Components

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Basic: walls, openings, components

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following modules:

   Basic: walls, openings, components

2. Click the corner of the wall (interior or exterior side) in which you want to insert a corner window opening.
3. Click the wall roughly where the first part of the window opening is to be inserted. Allplan automatically displays the distance between the point you clicked and the wall corner. Enter the width of the first window opening in the dialog line and select the Enter key to confirm this value.
4. If you want, you can now modify the parameters of the window opening.
   Use the options on the context toolbar.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Get Openings Designer Data from Catalog
     to select an opening that was created with the Opening Designer.
   • Click Match to copy the settings form an existing element.
   • Click Open Favorite File to retrieve parameter settings you have saved as a favorite file.
5. Click the wall roughly where the second part of the window opening is to be inserted. The system will display the distance between the point you clicked and the corner of the wall. Enter the width of the second window opening in the dialog line and select the Enter key to confirm this value.

   The corner window opening is now inserted into the wall.

6. If you have specified smart symbols, the system will prompt you for the reference point of the first smart symbol. Enter it and right-click to confirm the correct position of the smart symbols.
   Define the reference point of the second smart symbol and confirm it by right-clicking.

7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 to draw more corner window openings. Otherwise, select the Esc key to close the tool.

Note: For quantity takeoff in accordance with German building regulations, check that the openings are within the components.
