3D rectangle perpendicular to edge or curve

Tool(s): 3D Line

To draw a 3D rectangle that is centered on and perpendicular to an edge or curve

  1. Click 3D Line (How).
  2. The 3D Line Context toolbar opens. Click 3D Rectangle.

    Tip: Click Back to undo as many steps as you want.

  3. Select Based on center on edge or curve in the input options.
  4. Select the edge or curve for the center.

    A preview of the rectangle is attached to the crosshairs.

  5. Define the center of the rectangle on the edge or curve.
  6. Enter the length and width of the rectangle or click the diagonal point.

    Allplan draws the rectangle in the center so that the rectangle is perpendicular to the edge or curve.

    Tip: Using such 3D lines and Extrude Along Path, you can model complex solids quickly and easily.
