Importing layouts

Tool(s): Layout Catalog

Use Import Layouts to import all layouts or particular layouts from a layout catalog of an earlier version or from other layout catalogs of the same program version.

To import several layouts

1. Click Import Layouts in the toolbar at the top.
2. Click Next > to confirm the first dialog box.
3. Click and specify the folder with the layouts. Then click Next>.
4. Select the layouts you want to import. Then click Next<.

   The program adds the element plans to the layout catalog.

5. Check the new element plans created and click Finish.
   

Use Import layout from a single file to import a layout from any folder. This layout was saved with Save current layout to a single file. This layout can also come from the current Allplan version.

To import a single layout

1. Click Import layout from a single file in the toolbar at the top.
2. Select the folder with the layout.
3. Select the layout you want to import and click Open.

   The program adds the element plan to the layout catalog.
   

Notes:

• If the imported element plans have the same names as existing element plans, the new ones are marked as incorrect, as the names of element plans must be unique in the layout catalog.
  

  Incorrect definitions of layout elements are indicated by the error icon in the tree structure. Pointing to an incorrect layout element in the tree structure displays a ToolTip with a short description of the error(s).

  To get an overview of all the errors in the active element plan, click Error List on the toolbar at the top. The program displays a separate window that lists all incorrect layout elements in a tree structure, providing detailed information on the individual errors.

  You can also open the Error list when you quit the layout catalog and a message appears announcing that there are errors.

• If you quit the layout catalog without saving the changes, the imported element plans will be lost.
