Tools: Column

To create a round column

1. Click Column (How).
   

   Activate Column in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Architecture Task Elements Task area Components

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

2. If you want, you can now modify the column's parameters.
   Use the options on the context toolbar.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match properties to copy the settings from an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
3. To choose the column type, select the following settings in Properties:
   • Click Round outline.
   • Enter the radius.
   • Enter a value between 20 and f0 for segments in circle; 36 is the default setting.
   • Define the other properties and the height.

     Tip: Use segments in circle to define the number of segments for the round column. You can enter values between 20 and 40; the default setting is 36. In some cases, it might make sense to reduce the number of segments. For example, think of large rooms with numerous columns, such as underground water reservoirs.

4. Click OK to confirm.
5. Define the anchor point on the Column Context toolbar.
   

   In the icon, click to place the transport point.

6. To position the foundation, click in the workspace and define the drop-in point.
   

   • Click the point.
   • Align to points using the linear snap function and click the point.
   • Define the point by making entries in the dialog line.
