Additional text for mark number as criterion for precast element groups

When in Configurations, General then going to Program sequence within the title Rearrange shows that the previous Precast element groups per drawing file option has been extended. The setting was renamed as Split precast element groups according to with two options, namely drawing file as well as Additional text for mark number.

Activation of the drawing file corresponds to the previous option of Precast element groups per drawing file. This option, as was previously the case, is selected in the default setting.

The default selection of the new option Additional text for mark number is no. If the option is selected, then the precast element groups (same element type, same mark number, same element plan, same reference to a detailed drawing file if using BIM Booster) are also created in accordance with the Additional text for mark number that was defined.

The new option Additional text for mark number is completely independent of the option Drawing file. If, for example, you have 2 elements each as E1 and P1 with E or P = Additional text for mark number and 1 = Mark number on two selected drawing files, then on both

• active check boxes within the configuration you have a total of four precast element groups
• inactive check boxes within the configuration you just have one precast element group

This new option of creating precast element groups based on the Additional text for mark number applies to all design types.

In this case, the following special cases should be borne in mind:

• If two precast element groups are merged together via subsequent modification of one of the groups (e.g. Group P1 should form a single group together with Group E1 by amending the additional test from P to E to form a single Group E) and if both groups also have one element plan, then one of the two element plans is deleted.
  If both groups have a detailed drawing file, then an error message is displayed. It is then necessary to remove the reference to the detailed drawing file from one group. Both can be merged into one precast element group afterwards.
• If a precast element group of slab elements is divided into two groups when using BIM Booster by changing the Additional text for mark number then this also generates an error message as then one detailed drawing file would exist for two precast element groups. Then manually delete the detailed reference to the new group.
