‘Section Along Curve’ palette

Tools: Section Along Curve

Filter

Here you can select the elements you want to display in the section. In addition, you can define whether the section is to adapt automatically to changes you make to the palette or 3D model.

Remove/Add Elements

After having clicked the Remove/Add·Elements button, you can select the elements you do not want to display in the section. You can click any element in an open drawing file.
The selected elements appear in the detection color when generating the section.

When you click the button again, the elements you filtered out appear in the detection color. Click these elements to display them in the section again. To select several elements in a section, use the brackets.

Drawing files

You can specify which drawing files are to be considered for the section. After clicking the button, all active drawing files are then displayed in the Select drawing file dialog box.

Note: The drawing files that are currently loaded are already selected (current drawing file and the drawing files that are open in edit mode and reference mode) when you open the palette.

Layer

You can specify which layer is to be considered for the section. After clicking the button, the layer visibility is then defined in the Layer filter dialog box. Click to reset the settings selected in the Layer filter dialog box.

Update automatically

By selecting this option, you create an associative section. The program immediately updates the section to reflect any changes you make to the palette. This also applies to changes in the 3D model. Here, too, the section adapts automatically without you having to select the modification tool. When you create new elements, however, the program will not update the section until you modify it.

Sections that are not associative get a double border.

Scale

Resizing

By entering factors, you can resize the section in the x-direction, y-direction, or in both directions. A factor < 1 reduces the section; a factor > 1 enlarges the section.
You can therefore display the section without detailing at a scale that differs from the reference scale.

Clipping path

Section identifier

Enter the section identifier. Click if you want to delete the section identifier.

Height from elements

If the upper and lower boundary planes of the section are not derived from the selected elements, clear the Height from elements option and enter the values for the upper and bottom level.

Place clipping line, Representation

If you do not want to display the clipping path in plan, disable the Place clipping line option. Otherwise, click the Set button to define how the clipping path looks.

Section

Representation, Formats, Label

Click the respective Set button to define the Representation, Formats and Labeling for the section.
