Showing the grid

You can use the Show Grid tool to apply a grid, whose lines are spaced at 50 mm, to the overall layout area. This helps you place layout elements. In addition, the program shows possible DIN landscape formats (DIN A3 and larger).

To display a grid

• Using the Tools menu or the dropdown list on the title bar, you selected Customize User Interface... and dragged this tool from the Additional tools with icons category onto a toolbar.
  Or
  Using Actionbar Configurator, you dragged this tool from the More Tools task area into a task area of the Layout task.

• Click Show Grid.

Note: To delete the grid, you can select it as an entity group by clicking it with the middle and then left mouse button. Alternatively, press and hold down the SHIFT key.

An entity group is a group of elements which can be addressed as a whole. Polylines constructed in one step, for example, or symbols are entity groups. A group can be addressed as a whole by clicking one of the elements in the group with the middle mouse button and then left mouse button. Alternatively, select and hold the Shift key and click the element. Elements can be combined into an entity group even while being created (with the Assign Group Number tool) or later (with the Modify Format Properties tool).
