Using the Customize dialog box (How), you can customize the elements of the user interface to suit your needs. The options that are available to you depend on the selected configuration. For example, you can define user-specific toolbars by adding or removing icons. You can also assign shortcut keys to individual tools. You can change the look of palettes or the look of the Actionbar.

Activate Customize User Interface... in one of the following ways
Import...
You can import configuration settings from a file (.ubx) here.
Export...
You can export configuration settings to a file (.ubx) here. You can import this file to any computer.
Load...
This is where you load a configuration setting
Save...
This is where you save configuration settings. The settings are user-specific and saved in the Registry.
Note: Use Export... and Import... to exchange configuration settings between different users.
Categories
This is where you select a toolbar. The icons in the selected toolbar are visible in the Buttons area.

Module
If you have selected one of the categories Create, Create II or Change, select the module here.
Icons
Shows the symbols that are included in the selected category (and module). You can drag an icon to a toolbar or select an icon and assign a shortcut key.
ToolTip
Select the Hide option to hide a ToolTip when you position the cursor over an icon. With the options Plain tooltip and Extended tooltip you define what kind of ToolTip will be shown. Plain tooltips contain a short description of the function. Extended tooltips consist of a short description of the function; they can also contain further information, illustrations and/or links to short explanatory videos.
Note: Extended ToolTips are only displayed if Actionbar configuration is enabled.
New shortcut key
Enter a new shortcut for the icon.
Assign
Use this to assign the shortcut key to the button that is selected in the Icons area.
Current shortcut key
You can see the current shortcut key.
Color scheme and icon design
You can switch between the Allplan and Windows color schemes. This setting has an effect on the background of toolbars, palettes and dialog boxes.
‘Toolbars’ tab (not available with the Actionbar configuration)
Categories
This is where you show or hide toolbars.
Symbol size
Define which icon size you want to use to display the tools. This setting applies only to toolbars selected in Categories (= highlighted in blue).
New
This is where you create new toolbars.
Delete
Use this to delete the toolbar that is selected in the Categories area. The standard toolbar from Allplan cannot be deleted.
Reset
This resets the toolbar selected in the Categories area back to its defaults. This is not available with user-defined toolbars.
Reset All
This resets all the standard toolbars back to their defaults.
Hide automatically
Adjust tab width
When this option is selected, the tab width adapts to the height of the Allplan window. When this option is not selected, the tab width adapts to the text on the tab.
Limit tab width
When this option is selected, the tab width is limited to a maximum value. When this option is not selected, the tab width is defined so that the tab extends across the entire height of the Allplan window.
Time until palettes open
Enter the time in milliseconds that elapses until the palettes open when you point to a tab.
Time until palettes close
Enter the time in milliseconds that elapses until the palettes close when you move the cursor out of a tab.
Duration
Enter the time in milliseconds that elapses until the palettes appear and disappear.
Settings for palettes
Define special properties for each palette. You can also define the properties by right-clicking in a palette and selecting Customize... on the shortcut menu.
Modules (cannot be selected with the Actionbar configuration)
Specify whether the Modules palette shows the modules with texts, icons only, or texts plus icons. In addition, you can hide the ‘+‘ and ‘-‘ signs.
Tools (cannot be selected with the Actionbar configuration)
Symbols: Define the icon size and the space between the icons. In addition, you can specify whether you want to see icons + texts or icons only.
Tab position: Select the tab position for the Tools palette.
Wizards
Select the tab position for the Wizards palette.
Properties
Show Match buttons: When you select this option, you can see the Match icon in the Properties palette. By clicking this icon, you can take the properties from another element.
Description: When you select this option, you can see a description of the selected property in the lower part of the palette.
Navigation using the Enter key: You can specify how the focus behaves in the Properties palette when you select the Enter key. None does not change the focus. To left column moves the focus to the left column and To next row moves the focus to the next row so that you can immediately enter the next value.
Library
You can define the icon size.
Connect
There are no special settings for this palette. Select the check box to show the palette.
Layer
You can choose to display the upper and lower structural levels of the layer hierarchy and define the layer properties (short name, full name, combined format properties, pen, line, color) that you want to display.
Objects
There are no special settings for this palette. Select the check box to show the palette.
Planes
There are no special settings for this palette. Select the check box to show the palette.
Issue Manager
There are no special settings for this palette. Select the check box to show the palette.
‘Actionbar’ tab (only available with the Actionbar configuration)
Icon size
Define which icon size you want to use to display the tools on the Actionbar.
Icon spacing
Define the space between the icons on the Actionbar.
Position of fixed groups
Right / Left: Fixed task areas are available in each role and task of the Actionbar. Define whether you want to display these areas on the right or left side of the Actionbar.
Separators
Do not show / Show: When designing your own Actionbar by means of the configurator, you can add separators to the task areas for the sake of clarity. You can show or hide these separators.
Flyout menu
Arrangement of tools does not change: The tools on the flyout menu stay where they are.
Show the last tool selected: The tool you selected last on a flyout menu is at the top.
Behavior of flyout menu
Click to choose a tool: To select a tool on a flyout menu, point to the flyout menu and click to open the flyout menu. Select the required tool by clicking it.
To select a tool, click, then click again and release the mouse button: You can select a tool on a flyout menu in two ways:
Click to open the flyout menu and click the required tool.
Or
Click to open the flyout menu, hold the mouse button, point to the required tool on the menu, and release the mouse button.
