Hotline tools

Services application - Service menu

This is a collection of utilities to assist you with solving any problems that might occur. The utilities were also designed to automate program service and system service provided by technical support.

Choose the required tool and click OK to confirm.

Note: Use some of these tools only if you know exactly how they work or while you are engaged in dialog with technical support.

cleanstd

Note: Use the cleanstd hotline tool only in conjunction with the cleanup hotline tool.

This hotline tool fixes problems which are caused by incorrect or inadvertent program settings.
By running this hotline tool, you automatically change all settings that can be defined in the options or defaults of the program areas. However, this hotline tool does not affect the printer configuration, hatching settings, pattern settings, or smart symbol definitions.

Overview of files deleted by cleanstd

Note: You can also delete files (default values) individually. To do this, click No when you are prompted to reset all CAD settings.

By deleting these files, you reset all user-defined settings to the Allplan default settings. Consequently, the Options might be different the next time you start Allplan.

laststd

You can use this hotline tool to restore the most recent default values. By running this hotline tool, you can also restore all the default values deleted by cleanstd.

savestd

Use this hotline tool to save the current the default values that you defined yourself. You do not need to save the default values that come with the program because you can use the cleanstd hotline tool to restore these values at any time.

reststd

If the user-defined settings have been changed or reset by the cleanstd hotline tool, you can use this hotline tool to restore the original settings (if you saved them by running the savestd hotline tool).

Note: Always check whether the CAD program works properly before you run reststd.
If a problem you have tried to solve by running cleanstd still occurs after you have run reststd, select cleanstd again but do not run reststd afterward. In this case, you must manually adjust your original settings.

cleanreg

The cleanreg hotline tool finds all changed CAD-specific entries in the system registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER and restores them to their default values. You can also delete individual entries from the registry. To do this, click No when you are prompted to reset all settings in the registry.

Overview of registry keys deleted by cleanreg

Note: The cleanreg hotline tool resets only registry settings that are different from the default values. To get an overview of all the settings that have changed, click No when you are prompted to reset all settings in the registry.

lastreg

The lastreg hotline tool restores the most recent setting of the system registry. By running this hotline tool, you can also restore all the registry entries deleted by cleanreg.

savereg

Use the savereg hotline tool to save the current registry settings.

restreg

You can use the restreg hotline tool to restore the original registry settings. This is useful if these settings have been changed or reset by cleanreg. This is only possible if you already saved the settings beforehand by running the savereg hotline tool.

cleanup

This hotline tool initializes the representation on the screen and solves problems caused by damaged graphics. You can use this tool without hesitation. We recommend that you apply it whenever there is a problem with the representation on the screen. For example, you can use this hotline tool when the start logo is missing or toolbars are distorted.
After you have run this hotline tool and restarted the CAD program, the private project opens automatically.

cleanprint

This hotline tool restores changed printer settings to their default values. The default setting for Windows drivers is the Windows default printer; for Allplan vector drivers, it is channel 1.

toolbar

Use this hotline tool to restore the positions and contents of the toolbars to the default settings that come with the program. This hotline tool resets the toolbars, regardless of whether you saved their positions as default arrangements.

Important: The toolbar hotline tool deletes the current toolbar configuration and all saved toolbar configurations. But it does not delete toolbar configurations saved in ubx files. Run this hotline tool only when technical support tells you to do so.

reorg

Use this hotline tool to reorganize selected projects; in other words, to recombine drawing files with their associated lists.
You can also restore damaged or incomplete project administration files.

User local: re-creates the administration files for the local, empty project.

Named project: re-creates the administration files for the selected project. You must reselect the drawing files afterward.

Restore project management file: re-creates the project overview file.

updprjattr

Use this hotline tool to update the project attributes (not the CAD attributes!) of a project. To correctly display the project attributes of a project, run this hotline tool after you have run reorg.

wopro

This hotline tool shows the path and file name for a selected project.

listpro

This hotline tool shows the project names, paths, and file names of all projects. You can choose between screen output, output to file, and printer.

datwainit

You can use this hotline tool to trigger data conversion the next time you start Allplan. By running this hotline tool, you can automatically convert data to the current version if the data has not yet been converted For example, the data includes

datwaprjs

You can use this hotline tool to immediately trigger data conversion of all projects.
ATTENTION!
Use this tool only if you have checked backups of all your projects.

getenv

This hotline tool shows the Windows environment variables.

showcfg

This hotline tool shows the Allplan system variables.

showreg

This hotline tool shows the entries in the registry.

docsize

You can use this hotline tool to adjust the amount of memory Allplan reserves for all the loaded documents to the hardware of your computer.
If you work with a modern, fast computer with a lot of RAM, you can increase the memory capacity for loaded documents so that you can edit very large layouts. All entries are in megabytes.
As experience has shown, 8 gigabytes of RAM cover most requirements. However, you must always consider all applications that are running.

Recommended:

The default setting is 512 MB. Make sure that the document size is not less than 256 MB.

Note: A single document must not exceed 256 MB, regardless of the setting for the document size. If a document exceeds this value, a message asks you to move some data to a different document.
Note: If there is not enough free memory, your computer will use a swap file, slowing down all applications that are running on your computer.

alltrace

This hotline tool is only effective when Allplan logging (trace) is turned on (on the Service menu). In addition to logging everything the program does, this hotline tool outputs advanced messages that might help fix errors.
Note that Allplan is much slower when logging (trace) is running. Use this hotline tool only temporarily when technical support tells you to do so.

charttrace

This hotline tool is only effective when Allplan logging (trace) is turned on (on the Service menu). In addition to logging everything the program does, this hotline tool logs all function calls in Allplan 2024, writing them as events to the stdmen.out file.
Note that Allplan is much slower when logging (trace) is running.

The stdmen.out file chronologically lists the function calls of one day, even if you restart Allplan 2024 or the computer.
When you start Allplan 2024 the next day, the file will automatically be re-created.
Consequently, the file always documents the current day only.

The program creates the stdmen.out file when you run charttrace for the first time. You can find this file in the following path: ...\Users\Windows username\AppData\Local\Temp.

delsmtcache

To speed up working with SmartParts, you can use this precompiled code. This code is saved in the \SmartParts folder. You can find this folder in the path with your temporary CAD data. If you do not know the path of this folder, open the Services application - Service - File Explorer - My own temporary CAD data (TMP).

Run delsmtcache after you have changed the programming of SmartParts. By doing so, you delete the old data in the path mentioned. You can also run delsmtcache after cleanstd deleted SMT default values.

surfupdate

You can use this hotline tool to update surface files in projects. This hotline tool is useful if you work with Allplan 2013 projects that contain surfaces adjusted for global illumination. These surfaces are no longer required in Allplan 2013-1 and later.

Select one or more projects. By running surfupdate, you copy all files (*.surf and any associated textures) to the project if these files are also in the STD\Design folder and if these files in STD are newer than those in the project. Before overwriting a file, the program makes a backup copy that has the same name and ends in *.bak.

cleanvisgui

This hotline tool updates the visual scipting display, fixing problems caused by broken graphics information. The PypConWpfDlg.vsprofile.xml and VisualEditor_WindowLayout.config files are recreated.

remotesrv

Use this hotline tool to activate remote maintenance over the internet when technical support tells you to do so. This is required for some support services.

delcontainer

With this hotline tool, you delete the license information contained in the WIBU container based on your serial number, as instructed by technical support. This is required for some support services.
