Backing up documents from '...\Users\Windows_user_name\Documents\Nemetschek\Allplan\2024\Extern' to an earlier version

You can use this tool to convert drawing files of the current Allplan version 2024, which are in the external path, to documents of version 2021, 2022 or 2023. You can then copy these documents to any folder. You can also compress the data to a *.zip file.

To back up documents from the external path to any version

• Exit Allplan before you Back up documents from '...\Users\Windows_user_name\Documents\Nemetschek\Allplan\2024\Extern' to an earlier version.

1. Open the Services application, select the File menu and click Back up documents from '...\Users\Windows_user_name\Documents\Nemetschek\Allplan\2024\Extern‘ to earlier version.
2. Select the target version to which you want to convert the data.

   Allplan automatically converts the data. This may take some time, depending on the source version and the target version.
   After conversion the data are still in the external path.

3. Follow the instructions displayed on screen.
4. The program will then ask whether you want to delete the data in the external path.
   Confirm this question to empty the external path for the next conversion.
