General changes to the data backup function
The
data backup function has been changed and improved in the following aspects:
- In addition, the Favorites can now be saved or loaded. After selecting the option, you can still set if the Favorites from the Standard and/or the Office and/or the Private directory and/or the current project should be saved or loaded.
- The choice of factory at Catalogs and Configurations when saving data has been omitted.
If you use
Data Backup to create a backup of Catalogs and Configurations for the office (client/customer) or a specific project , then all factories are automatically saved in Mode = Save Data in all cases. The selection of the factory to be saved is omitted!
If a backup of catalogs and configurations, created via
Data Backup , contains several factories then when in Mode = Read Data they can specify which factories should be imported.
The Factory option has been selected for this purpose. In the relevant selection dialog box you can go to Select All or specify one or several of the factories displayed so they can be backed up. - A new addition is the Library entry in accordance with the cross-section catalogs. You can include fixtures into the structure from Version 2024 onwards. Macros, SmartParts, symbols or PythonParts can be added to the back-up. After activating the Export library option, select either Select all or specify Fixtures and/or Smart symbols and/or SmartParts and/or Symbols and/or PythonParts for back-up or for reading.
Afterwards, you then select if the corresponding data should be saved from the Standard and/or the Office and/or from the Private directory and/or the path defined via External and/or the current Project .
Note: The individual entries for Symbols, Smart symbols and SmartParts in the dialog have therefore been omitted. - In the case of the Load Precast Element Catalog and Load Precast Element Lists dialog box then the Save from file icon. Instead there is the Cancel button, which terminates the import of corresponding precast element catalogs and/or precast element lists.
During importing, the selection will be activated in both dialog boxes in the same way it was contained during backup. If the client contained in the backup file does not exist on the computer to which the data is imported, then the New Client icon is immediately selected and the client’s name is entered into the input line. - In the dialog that is displayed after exporting or importing data, for every exported or imported category (e.g. loaded drawing files, catalogs and configurations, cross-section catalogs etc.) it is always shown if the export or import was successful or if an error occurred.
