'Design' configuration entry

Configuration Brick slab: Design + Concrete Brick Slab: Design + Suspended Brick Slab: Design

"General" tab

Section for displaying outer edges: (suspended brick slab only)

Selection box of the joint section catalog. If you select a "straight" section, this section is used to draw the exterior outline of the placing region in the placing drawing. All the other superfluous lines of the joints between the panels are in construction-line format. If the construction-line format is hidden via Show/Hide, this means the joints between the panels are no longer visible at all. If you do not select a section, all panel joints are drawn as usual and cannot be hidden.

Minimum web width:

The program will not form panel web widths narrower than this value. They can result from unfavorable dimensions (at a room corner) or around an opening. A practical value is the width of the bricks used.

Joint between elements:

[cm] Initial value for the joint between the individual panels.

Brick type: (brick slab only)

The brick specified here is used for the design and defines the element width. The name you enter must agree with the name in the brick catalog. Watch out for spaces, lowercase letters and uppercase letters!
You can use the Change Hollow Blocks, Concrete Strips, Filling Objects, Bricks tool to modify the bricks.

Brick display mode:

Specify how the bricks look. The format properties of the brick edges and the surface elements are based on the settings in the brick/tile catalog.

Fixture for display of cross ribs: (suspended brick slab only)

To display the cross ribs, select a surface fixture from Allplan's fixture catalog by specifying the numbers of the file and entry.

Fixture for display of shear area: (brick slab and suspended brick slab only)

To display the shear area, select a surface fixture from Allplan's fixture catalog by specifying the numbers of the file and entry. These shear areas (concrete areas at the supports) are created automatically if you work with the Italian SolCalc calculation program.

'Sloping edges and arcs' tab

Maximum angle at inclined fronts:

Limit for angle between the end face and the perpendicular to the span direction. If this value is exceeded, the element cannot be produced. The program displays a relevant message when designing.
Example

Minimum angle at end face:

Minimum angle at longitudinal side:

The elements created are always rectangular. Bricks are never cut at an angle. Whether a brick is to be placed or not is based on the geometry of the precast element, which is impacted by these settings. If the center of the brick is within the geometry of the precast element or on its outline, the brick is created.

These values indicate the angle above which the geometry of the precast element is created so that the end faces and longitudinal sides are inclined.
This inclination is defined by the angle between the end face and the perpendicular to the span direction or by the angle between the longitudinal side and the span direction.

If the angle at the end face or longitudinal side is less than the value specified, the geometry of the precast element is stepped at the corresponding side. This normally produces more bricks than an inclined geometry.
The limits defined in the Supports configuration entry are used for calculating the support widths automatically.

Approximation of arcs:

Yes: existing arcs are used to approximate the sides of the geometry of the precast element (with as few edges as possible).
The limits defined in the Supports configuration entry are used for calculating the support widths automatically.

Maximum number of edges for approximation:

Maximum number of edges permitted when existing arcs are used to approximate the sides of the geometry of the precast element.

'Marks' tab

Assignment of marks:

Specify the mark numbers the program assigns to precast elements while creating them. When you modify elements later, they get the mark numbers specified here. This also applies if you have rearranged the elements manually in the meantime by using the Modify Mark Number tool.

Zero: The elements initially get the mark number zero and will be rearranged manually later.

Ascending: The elements get numbers in ascending order.

Identical: While creating elements, the program automatically checks the elements based on the following criteria:

Note: In order to rearrange the girders effectively for a Suspended Brick Slab for which the Manage girder and brick rows separately option is selected on the General tab in the Panel Type Catalog, the Ascending option should be configured here for the assignment of mark numbers. This ensures each girder can be found in an exact place on the layout via a number.
