Working with projects
Upper toolbar
Reports
You can use this tool to open the Admin folder in the Reports dialog box, where you can create reports of projects.
Project filter
You can use this tool to open the Project filter dialog box, where you can filter the visible projects.
Turn off
You can use this tool to turn off the filter, displaying all projects in the selected data path.
Find project name quickly
By entering the first letters of a project name, you can quickly go to a specific project. The F3 key takes you to the next project found.
Check availability of all offline projects
When this option is selected, the program checks whether the folders with the projects are available as soon as you open this dialog box. Online projects will not be checked until you click them.
Left-hand toolbar
New project
With the aid of the New Project dialog box, you can create a new Allplan or Allplan Share project. Depending on requirements, the new project can be created on a local workstation, on a workgroup’s data server or on the openBIM Allplan Bimplus platform.
Copy project
At this point, the Copy project/Move project dialog box is used to create a copy of the highlighted project.
The prerequisite here is that you are either an Allplan administrator or Allplan project owner.
Import project
Here you can import one or more projects or zipped project backups from any path. The project can also originate from an earlier, still supported Allplan version. You can select the projects in the import project dialog box and import them into the current version. The source version is displayed in the version column; the project is converted to the current version when you first open it. You can use this function to upconvert projects from previous versions after upgrading to the current Allplan version.
Recent projects
You can see a list of the projects you opened most recently. You can select any project in the list. The location of the project is enclosed in parentheses.
Share
All Bimplus projects are displayed here in which the user that is currently logged into Allplan web services may edit Allplan Share projects.
Local
Shows all projects saved on the local computer.
Workgroup server
Shows all projects saved on a workgroup server (in a workgroup environment).
Copy STD as per COR
At this point you copy the actual settings for the office standard from the STD folder (usually below the central file storage folder) in a folder in the cloud (Cloud Office Resources, see "Saving and Administering Resources in the Cloud").
Manage COR
At this point you call up administration of the settings saved inn the cloud for the office standard (= Cloud Office Resources) (see "Saving and Administering Resources in the Cloud").
"Data source" table (left-hand side)
Teams
Only if the
Share data source is set in the left-hand toolbar.
All Bimplus teams are displayed here in which the user that is currently logged into Allplan web services may edit Allplan Share projects.
Server
Only if the
Local or
Workgroup Server data source is set in the left-hand toolbar.
Select localhost (where the data source is
Local) or the name of the server (where the data source is
Workgroup Server) to access the projects saved there.
Select My Projects in order to access your private projects in a free folder you have selected.
"Projects" table (right-hand side)
Note: To add columns, right-click a table header and select Display attribute columns... on the shortcut menu. Click a column heading to sort the projects according to specific attributes. Click an attribute to change its value. Click Remove this column to remove columns. Some columns are only visible when Workgroup Manager is installed.
Project name
Shows the names of the projects. The symbol to the left of the project name indicates the project type.

Shows the dates the projects were created.
Availability
Indicates whether a project is available. When the Check availability of computer option is selected, the program checks whether the folder with the project is available as soon as you open this dialog box. The final availability (for example, to find out if the project has been opened by another user) will not be checked until you click the project. The availability of an online project will not be checked until you click it.

Computer
Shows the computer where the project is saved.
Owner
Shows the owner of the project.
Compressed
The
symbol indicates that the data of a project prepared online is compressed.
Attribute columns
When you right-click a column heading, you can select Display attribute columns on the shortcut menu. You can use this tool to display additional columns with project attributes. You can then assign attributes directly in this dialog box.

The following tools are available depending on if you access the shortcut menu for a specific project or the whole area:
New project
Identical with the
New Project tool.
importing projects
Identical with the
Import Project tool.
Linking an existing project
This is where you link an existing Allplan project that is not yet in the current data path with your own My Projects project list.
Copy To
Identical with the
Copy Project tool.
Move to
You can move the project to another location.
Copy to project templates
You can save the project as a project template.
Create project backup
You can compress a project and save it as a ZIP file. For example, a planning partner can add a compressed project to the project list by using drag-and-drop editing.
Save as project file (.apn)
You can save a project as a free project file in any folder here.
Delete project (Del)
You can delete the project.
Rename (F2)
You can rename the project.
Prepare project for online access
You can configure the program to prepare a project for online use so that you can use an FTP server to access the project. When you select this option, Allplan sets all resources to project-specific and copies the user rights to the project.
Compress data / Uncompress data
You can compress the data of projects prepared online. Data compression reduces the file size of these drawing files by up to 90 %, thus considerably speeding up data transfer from and to the FTP server.
Manage locking information (only for Allplan Share projects and in the workgroup)
Locked information can be shown and managed by the administrator via the shortcut menu in a project. This is possible for projects on the workgroup server and standalone seats working on an Allplan Share project.
Manage project files (Allplan Share projects only)
You can open Allplan Share Project Explorer. By using the shortcut menu, the project administrator can download files from Allplan Share or upload files to Allplan Share.
Bimplus project management (Allplan Share projects only)
You can switch to Bimplus project management.
Show Bimplus model (Allplan Share projects only)
You can show the Bimplus model.
Delete local project cache (Allplan Share projects only)
You can delete the local copy of an Allplan Share project (for example, after you have deleted the project from Allplan Share).
Project analysis
A project can be analyzed regarding data consistency or other problems here.
Properties (Alt+Enter)
You can access the Project Settings dialog box, where you can select the path settings for the project resources of the selected project and assign attributes.
