IFC-compliant creation of model in Allplan
Each transferable object modeled in three dimensions in Allplan and transferrable via IFC will be transferred with all its properties that are required to identify this object in IFC. These properties include the geometry, location and general properties, such as the object type and name.
Using attributes, you can assign any other information that is relevant to the object and that you want to transfer together with the object. Allplan features the Object Manager module, containing the
Assign Attributes and
Modify Attributes tools.
The group from which you take the attributes is irrelevant. You can also use user-defined attributes. Allplan always transfers all attributes that are assigned and that have values.
When it comes to transferring an attribute as an IFC or Allplan attribute, the group to which an attribute belongs is completely irrelevant. This classification is instead performed internally within the program and cannot be influenced.
Note: With regard to all other attribute properties, Allplan allows you to influence the transfer and assignment for both the IFC export as well as the IFC import. This option requires an assignment file, which must be created with a text editor (see "Attribute mapping for export and import"). Therefore, we recommend that this is done only by experienced Allplan users with in-depth program knowledge.
