Intelligent (smart) symbols

‘Intelligent (smart) symbols’ are elements that can automatically be placed at a fixed offset to boundaries of architectural elements so that they are parallel to these architectural elements (e.g. walls, slabs, rooms, roof planes). You need to do the following to use intelligent (smart) symbols:

1st - when defining the (smart) symbol

• When defining the (smart) symbol in the respective folder of the Library palette, you need to specify that the (smart) symbol is created as an Intelligent (smart) symbol with Snoop functionality.

  

• After this, specify the reference line and the offset to this line.

  

  A Reference line: this line is aligned so that it is parallel to the architectural line.

  BOffset: this defines the offset to the reference line used to align the (smart) symbol with architectural lines.

2nd - when placing the (smart) symbol

• When you place an intelligent (smart) symbol, click Snoop in the input options.

  

• Depending on the position of the crosshairs, the (smart) symbol automatically aligns with existing architectural lines.
