In the case of structural precast elements and precast elements, the span direction was previously defined by the 2D angle on the globe model. A span direction of 0° therefore always points east in relation to this globe. Special rules were laid down for the North and South Poles. This meant that a 2D entry angle (such as Entry via two points) could have a completely different span direction than intended. Direct entry of the span direction as a 3D vector had not been possible to date. An auxiliary view had therefore always been required for this purpose.
This has now been changed. In the new version of Allplan, 3D vectors are defined that can be defined by two 3D points when entering the viewing and span direction in the Orientation group via two points. The 3D vector is then displayed for the viewing and span direction in place of the existing 2D vector. Furthermore, the two parameters Viewing direction and Span direction now have the same four, standard input options Entry via two points,
Entry via three points,
Entry via midpoint and
Switch direction.
In the case of structural precast·elements, the Production dimensions and Loading dimensions groups are also available alongside the Orientation group. Both of these groups have been adjusted accordingly.
Furthermore, when setting absolute for the production site or loading site, you can also choose from the four, standard input options Entry via two points,
Entry via three points,
Entry via midpoint and
Switch direction, as entry here is now also via 3D points. The existing entry has been retained for the Relative to span direction setting. The existing entry via 2D points with the
Entry angle in Plan View,
Entry via two points and
Switch direction variants can all still be selected. In order to make reference to the entry via 2D points, the two Production direction und Loading direction parameters have been renamed here, becoming Production direction 2D and Loading direction 2D.
The entry sequence in the Orientation group has now been amended to Reference point, Viewing direction and Span direction.
Note: In the case of Precast Wall (iWall), the entry sequence has also been changed to Reference point, Viewing direction. As before, it is not necessary to enter the Span direction in the Orientation group for PythonParts and 3D objects.
