Prior to installing: Backing up data

The installation of Allplan 2023 has been tested and is safe and should be completed without any problems. Nevertheless, as before installing any other program, we recommend that you make a backup beforehand, which will allow you to restore the program to its pre-installation state.

When upgrading, also perform a targeted backup of all Allplan data (e.g. projects, office standard) via services application on all workstations and relevant servers. Check that you include the following folders with all the subfolders:

• PRJ (projects and project settings)
• STD (office standard) and country-specific folders, for example STD.ENG
• NET (configuration of workgroup manager)
• USR (user settings and data)

Since not all personal settings can be transferred to Allplan 2023, please also note the “Restrictions on transferring personal settings”. Do this before you back up your data.

It is recommended to archive the complete backup (do not overwrite this backup regularly!).
