Transfer elements

Task area Precast Slab + Precast Wall + Precast Element

You can use this tool to transfer fixtures and reinforcement with labels to (partly) identical precast elements. You can transfer the selected elements from the source precast element to one or more destination precast elements at the same time.

When you transfer From precast element - To precast element, it is irrelevant whether the destination precast elements are rotated because PLANBAR always transfers the elements from the local origin of the source precast element to the local origins of the destination precast elements. Even when transferring From point - To point, the program rotates the selected elements so that they are positioned correctly.

To transfer fixtures and reinforcement to existing precast elements

  1. Click Transfer Elements (How).
  2. Make basic settings for the transfer in the input options.
  3. Click the source precast element and select all elements that you want to transfer.
The Filter by Precast Element tool in the Filter task area helps you select elements.

Note: By clicking a fixture in a fixture group or a single bar belonging to a group (for example, a placement, a longitudinal bar or stirrup of a stirrup cage, or a longitudinal bar of a bent-up mesh), you always select the entire group. You cannot select individual elements in a group.

FF reinforcement cages created across several elements cannot be transferred.

  4. Specify the reference point for the transfer if Point entry is selected in the input options.

Note: To define a unique point, use an isometric view. When you click points in a two-dimensional view (placing drawing, layout plan, element plan, ...), the program always uses the point that is farthest away in the viewing direction.

  5. Select the destination precast elements.
You can click only one precast element if Point entry is selected in the input options.

If Check geometry is selected in the input options and you have selected only one precast element that is not identical to the source precast element, the program displays a warning and cancels the transfer. If you have selected several precast elements, you will not see a warning.

  6. Turn off the Check geometry option or change the setting of the Turn direction of span option and select the destination precast elements again.
  7. Specify the drop-in point for the elements to be transferred if Point entry is selected in the input options.

If one of the elements is outside the selected precast element, the program displays a warning and cancels the transfer. If all requirements are met, the program creates the selected elements with their labels in the destination drawing files.

  8. Specify more drop-in points or select Esc to choose a new destination precast element if Point entry is selected in the input options.
  9. Select more destination precast elements or select Esc to choose a new source precast element.
