File storage folder and user folders centrally on an Allplan workstation

Projects

Projects are stored in the central file storage folder in the \Prj folder. The computer with the central file storage folder is also used as an Allplan workstation.

Office standard

You can find the office standard in the \Std folder in the central file storage folder. If you have installed country-specific packages, you can find these packages in country-specific folders, for example \STD.ENG. The office standard can only be defined and modified by the Allplan administrator.

Users

You can find the user folders in the \Usr folder in the central file storage folder. A subfolder with the internal Allplan username is created in the \Usr folder.

Mesh

You can find the administration and configuration files in the \Net folder in the central file storage folder.

In addition to the project.dat.xml file, this folder contains the following important files:

Data.cfg List of included network servers/computers with the respective share folder.

User.cfg lists all Allplan users. This file also indicates the computer with the user folder.

Useralias.dat lists the assignment between the Windows usernames and the internal Allplan usernames. This file is only created if these two names are different or if a user is the administrator.

*.lck project locking file(s). Here, too, the *.lck files control access to projects. A project can be opened by several users at the same time. While the Allplan administrator is setting up a project, it cannot be accessed by anyone else. Open files are protected from unauthorized changes. Consequently, only one user has write permission at any one time.
