Setting up the Workgroup Manager

The following is a brief description of how to set up the Allplan Workgroup on your network. At the appropriate points, reference is made to further descriptions of specific topics.

To select the Workgroup Manager

• You have administrator rights for the network in question
• You have installed Allplan 2022 on the first workstation in the network

1. Immediately after installing the first Allplan workstation on the network, select the Workgroup Manager.

   To do this, start Services application2022.

2. Bring up Allplan Diagnostics.

   To do this, click Allplan Diagnostics in the Service menu.

3. In Allplan Diagnostics, select the Settings tab and click Browse in the Workgroup Settings area next to NetPath.
4. Set the UNC address of the central file storage folder.

   Important! Even if the central file storage folder is located locally on the same computer, the path must be specified as a UNC address!

5. Click Set.

   Now the Workgroup Manager is selected.

   Note: For more information on Allplan Diagnostics, see Allplan Help. Just press the F1 key or click Help in the lower left corner.

6. Exit Allplan Diagnostics by clicking Close.

   Services application now also contains the Workgroup Manager menu.

7. Close the Services application.

To set up an Allplan Workgroup

• You are signed in as an Allplan administrator
• Allplan 2022 is installed on all workstations that are to be included in the workgroup

1. Start the Services application 2022.
2. If necessary, include additional computers in the workgroup on which projects are to be stored. Share the folder on the computer you want to add.

   To do this, click Administer projects and computer in the Workgroup manager menu.

3. Set up the users, specifying which computer the user should access. Only after a user is set up here can they start Allplan.

   To do this, click Administer users in the Workgroup manager menu.

   Important! Ensure ISO 9660 compliance when assigning Allplan user names.

4. Start Allplan 2022 at the relevant workstation and finally set the office standard.

   Note: By logging the user into the operating system with their user name, they are automatically logged into Allplan 2022 as a user with the same name or as a user set up in the Workgroup Manager.
