Defining dynamic group fixtures

To define a dynamic group fixture

1. Select the elements you wish to include in a dynamic group fixture.
2. Specify the base point of the smart symbol.
   This is the point at which the fixture group will be attached to the crosshairs when you place it.
3. The program creates names for the individual fixtures. You can use the Enter name and Modify name tools to change the names at any time.
   

   The fixture names are displayed one after the other in the dialog line. Enter your changes.

   

   Click the part of the group fixture whose name you want to edit. Enter the new name in the dialog line.

4. Click Enter reference point on the Dynamic Group Fixture Context toolbar.
   

   Use this to define individual reference points that are used to resize the fixtures later.

5. Define reference points for resizing the individual fixtures later.
6. To delete reference points, click Delete reference point.
   

   Use this to delete reference points you have already specified.

7. Click Definition of methods. Click OK to confirm.
8. You can use the Reference point symbol tool to change the symbol representing the reference point.
   

   A wide range of symbols is available for selection in the Point Symbol dialog box. Click a symbol.

   You can make the following settings:

   • Symbol size: enter the actual size of the symbol.
   • Symbol angle: the symbol is rotated by the angle specified.
   • Constant size in layout:

     On: symbol size changes dynamically with the reference scale.

     Off: symbol size is static.

   • Also rotate symbol:

     On: symbol and text rotate.

     Off: only the text rotates.

   • Connect symbols with line:

     On: point symbols are linked up with a polyline.

     Off: no polyline.

9. Click Text parameters to change the parameters of the text.
10. Click OK when you have made all necessary entries on the Dynamic Group Fixture Context toolbar.
11. Save the dynamic group fixture in an existing file or a new file.
12. Enter a name for the dynamic group fixture under Enter.
13. Define another dynamic group fixture or quit the tool by clicking Cancel.
