Replacing all instances of a plant object

Tool(s): Replace Plant Objects

To replace all instances of a plant object with another instance

1. Click Replace Plant Objects (How).
   

   Activate Replace Plant Objects in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Surroundings Task Landscaping Task area Plant Objects, Path Areas

   • Menu bar: Change Terrain Landscaping

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Landscaping

2. Select the Add identical objects option in the Input Options.

   This replaces all smart symbols or plant object that match the selected smart symbol or plant object.

   Note: You can use the Label option in the Input Options to specify whether labels are also replaced (with) or not (without).

3. Click a plant object of the instance you want to replace.
4. Select the plant object which is to replace the existing instances in one of the following ways:
   • Click the plant object that is to replace the original plant objects.
   • Click Library in the Input Options to open the plant catalog and to select a plant object.

     Note: The program replaces the instances that are in the current drawing file and in drawing files open in edit mode.

     Note: The setting for Resize smart symbol has an effect on the substitute object when you Replace Plant Objects. If the original plant object was defined and placed with this option being selected, the substitute object behaves in the same way even if it was defined with this option being not selected.
