Combine Lines to Make Polylines

Task area Change

You can use this tool to join connecting 2D and 3D lines or polylines, thus making a single polyline. The program stops at branches and you can decide which branch to follow. If the format properties of the elements differ (e.g. line color), you can define the format properties for the new polyline in a dialog box.

You can also use this tool to join architectural elements like baseboard (Rooms, Surfaces, Stories task area), building boundaries (Urban Planning task area) and hedges (Plant Objects, Path Areas task area) later. The new element automatically assumes all the properties of the element you clicked first.

Note: With this tool, you can edit only lines and polygons. You cannot use it for arcs. The 3D elements can be in different planes, but they must be continuous.

To combine lines to make polylines

  1. Click Combine Lines to Make Polylines (How).
  2. Click the element that is to be the first segment in the polyline.

The program automatically combines all the adjoining lines to make a polyline.
