Append to file

Select this check box to attach new elements to an existing file (DXF, DWG, DGN format) without changing the existing data. Do the following:

1. Import the file to which you want to add elements.
2. Use a new drawing file to draw the elements you want to attach. While doing this, you can open the drawing file with the existing elements in reference mode.
3. Export only the new drawing file and select the Append to file check box. Allplan attaches only the elements in the new drawing file; all the other elements remain unchanged.

The new file gets the original file name; the original file gets the following name: filename.sav1.extension.

Animation-based orientation of areas

When you select this check box, Allplan analyzes the solids of polyhedral objects during import and adjusts these objects so that they are correct in animation. This may take some time; therefore, you should switch off this option if you do not need it.

Adjust size of smart symbol

When you select this check box, Allplan adjusts the size of smart symbols so that the drop-in point and size match the drop-in point and size of the smart symbol in the import file (even if the size of the assigned smart symbol differs).
