Construction line on/off

You can use Construction Line on/off to switch construction line mode on and off. Construction lines are like erasable pencil lines on conventional drawings. When you enable construction line mode, new elements are drawn using the construction line color and line type set in the Options - Desktop environment - Display page - Drawing file and NDW window area. Elements drawn as construction lines are excluded from printouts. 3D elements and architectural components drawn as construction lines are not displayed in animation windows. Use Show/Hide to globally show or hide elements drawn as construction lines.

Elements in construction-line format are drawing aids. They are not included in printouts you create in Layout Editor. When printing straight from print preview, you can specify whether construction lines are to appear in printouts. The line type and color of construction lines can be changed in the Options. You can use Construction lines on/off in the Properties palette to specify whether elements are drawn as construction lines. Use Show/Hide to globally show or hide elements drawn as construction lines.

To switch construction lines on

• Click Construction Line on/off (How).
  

  Activate Construction Line on/off in one of the following ways

  • Menu bar: Format

  • Toolbar: Format

  Note: If construction lines are switched off in Show/Hide, the program displays them automatically after issuing a corresponding message.

To switch construction lines off

• Click Construction Line on/off again.

  All the elements drawn as construction lines are still available for your design work.
